ABOUT WOODS COVE

Woods Cove is a neighborhood located in the heart of Laguna, just south of Laguna Village. The homes were originally cottages and beach bungalows, many of which have been expanded and renovated in the same architectural style. There are some craftsman-style and a few modern homes as well. In addition to being near the amenities of the Village, the neighborhood offers its own mix of restaurants and shops, and also proximity to Woods Cove Beach, one of the nicest in all of Laguna. Woods Cove Beach is in a sandy cove that has rocky points at both ends and fancy Laguna Beach homes high above the bluff. Bette Davis lived in the English Tudor home just north of the stairs and it is now a registered historic structure. Lover’s Cove is the nickname of the southern part of this beach (south of the stairs). At the north end there is a rock arch that leads to Pearl Street Beach at low tides. Large rocks poke out of the water just offshore and can be quite spectacular when large waves are present. Woods Cove is bordered by Victoria Beach to the south.
