BAHAMAS YACHT CHARTERS
Cruising through the Bahamas on a crewed motor yacht charter is a dream come true, as you drop anchor off blinding white sand beaches and dive off the yacht into water of an almost shocking blue. Settle into Bahamian life as you feed the famous swimming pigs, swim with gentle nurse sharks, and finish each day with a cocktail under the fiery setting sun.
DAY 1: HARBOUR ISLAND
Join your superyacht at Nassau’s Paradise Island at midday, and sit down for an elegant lunch on deck as the yacht cruises to your first stop, Harbour Island. Known as the ‘St Barts of the Bahamas’, this dreamy little island is famous for horses running along pink sand beaches and its picture-perfect setting of white colonial cottages, bright pink bougainvillea and waving coconut palms. Drinks are on the waterfront terrace at Sip Sip, before dining in style at the plantation hotel, The Landing.
DAY 2: ELEUTHERA
Another day in paradise awaits when the Captain takes the yacht across to Eleuthera for a day of diving adventures and lazing about on perfect pink sands. One of the best dives in the world is found at the Devil’s Backbone at Spanish Wells, while the adventurous can ride the underwater rapids at Current Cut, or enjoy superb sportfishing offshore. After tiring yourself out with water sports, dinner is at anchor in a peaceful bay, surrounded by moonlit sea.
DAY 3: HIGHBOURNE CAY
After a long breakfast and a swim, your charter yacht will move to Eleuthera's spectacular Glass Window, where the dark blue waters of the Atlantic are separated from the duck-egg blue Caribbean Sea by a narrow rock causeway. The yacht will then get underway for Highbourne Cay, the gateway to the Exumas. Sunset drinks are on the sundeck by the Jacuzzi, before heading ashore for a great seafood meal at Xuma.
DAY 4: SHROUD CAY
You’ll wake up at Allen Cay, where you’ll jump in the tender and go ashore to feed grapes to the famously friendly Bahamian Rock Iguanas. Then it’s back on the yacht to cruise into the absolutely breathtaking Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, where you’ll drop anchor at Shroud Cay. Spend the afternoon practicing your bonefishing or kayaking up the mangrove canal, before enjoying a luxury beach barbeque you’ll never forget on the pure white sands.
DAY 5: WARDERICK WELLS
Start the day with a snorkel above a wrecked smuggler’s plane at Norman’s Cay, before swimming with nurse sharks at Compass Cay Marina. But save some energy for later, as the yacht will then move on to Warderick Wells, where a huge sperm whale skeleton rests on the beach and an old pirate’s lair will fire up the kid’s imaginations. There are some great walking trails on the island past blowholes and the old loyalist plantation - and it’s practically compulsory to climb BooBoo Hill. Dinner is at anchor in this quiet, pristine place.
DAY 6: STANIEL CAY
Get your cameras ready, for you’re in for a real treat today. At Pig Beach on Big Major Island, adorable wild pigs swim out to your yacht in the hope of being fed, their pink trotters paddling frantically through the crystal clear water. One of the great wildlife sights of the world, this is one not to be missed. In the afternoon, you’ll visit Thunderball Grotto, made famous by the James Bond film 'Thunderball', or dive the caves at Rocky Dundas. Dinner is ashore at Staniel Cay Yacht Club.
DAY 7: NASSAU
After a leisurely breakfast and swim, your charter will end where it began at Paradise Island, Nassau. However, you may want to stay on a day or two to enjoy Nassau’s premium golf courses and celebrity-chef restaurants!
